About

Sing Four Four

Sing Four Four Community Choir was born in 2021 under the Directorship of Jen Bamford. Everyone is welcome and there are no auditions required to join us.  We are a community choir where meeting new people, having fun and being part of the community are key.  We sing music from a wide variety of genres, practising once a week on a Thursday evening, in a relaxed, fun and learning atmosphere.  Our most recent concert was held on July 14th – go to our Hear Us page to have a listen to the music we sang.

Jen Bamford – Director of Music

Jen was born into a musical family and has lived in Swindon for most of her life.  Primarily a flautist and piccolo player, she has enjoyed teaching, playing and directing in a variety of capacities over the years, working with people of all ages and abilities.

Jen believes that music should be a nurturing experience, giving a sense of fun and achievement at all levels.  She enjoys sharing her love of music with others and using it to enhance the lives of those who choose to listen or participate.

Directing experience began many years ago when Jen ran flute choirs with students and later, was MD for the Estelle School of Dance in their biennial musicals at the Wyvern Theatre.  More recently, she became assistant MD to The Village Singers in Chippenham, MD for Sing Four Four, and more recently was delighted to have been invited to lead Highworth Choral Society.  She also runs a small vocal group in Christian Malford.  In addition, Jen continues to teach the flute both privately and at Warneford School; she thoroughly enjoys the variety in her work.

Accompanists

We are most fortunate in working with our gifted rehearsal accompanist – Richard Saunders. Richard has been with the Choir for the last year.

We are also fortunate in that, when required, we have been able to call on the wonderfully talented accompanists – Jane Smale, Vanessa Harries and Alison Morell to support us.
